Frequently Asked Questions

collage I need to speak to someone but where do I start?

You can start by sending us an email. Tell us about you and your problem and the kind of help you are looking for. Within 48 hours, a therapist will respond to you.
If you prefer to talk to a therapist, you can arrange this by sending us an email with a brief outline of your problem. Please let us know the days and times you are available. With this information we will be able to match a suitable therapist to the times you are available and confirm your appointment.

Will I always be able to speak to the same therapist?

Yes. We understand the importance of maintaining the relationship with your therapist and encourage you to use the same therapist for any subsequent appointments.

Can I change therapists if I want to?

At the beginning of therapy we will do our best to match you to a therapist you can work with. If you feel you are unable to work with that therapist let them know and ask for an onward referral.

Is therapy available 24hrs a day?

Email can be sent and received at any time over a 24 hour period. Booked sessions are available from 9:00 am - 9:00 p.m. and need to be arranged in advance.

Can I see a therapist off-line?

As most of our therapists are based in the Milton Keynes area this is not practical unless you live locally . If you would like us to put you in contact with a therapist near your location we can select a suitable therapist from our database. Please note we can not be held responsible for the advice given by a third party.

What qualifications do your therapists have?

Our therapists are of the highest standard and have been personally known to our director of therapy Jean Wickson for many years. All therapists are bound by a strict code of ethics.

How do I book an appointment?

No appointments are necessary when you communicate with a therapist via our 48 hour response email. If you would like to book telephone therapy you will need to specify the times you are available, to allow us to match a suitable therapist.

How long do sessions last?

Telephone therapy lasts 50 minutes. For email therapy our therapists will spend a minimum of 60 minutes responding to your email.

Is my personal information secure?

How much do consultations cost?

We charge £25.00 for a guaranteed 48 hour response by email or £30.00 for a 50 minute telephone consultation.

How many sessions of therapy are required?

It is impossible to answer this question as we are all different and people respond in different ways to therapy. Therapy cannot be rushed and should not be seen as a quick fix, therapy should and needs to be given time. Many people have therapy for a few sessions to resolve a particular event in their life with the help of a neutral person. The number of sessions will also depend on you taking the steps discussed with the therapist.

How do I get advice on the products in your shop ?

For advice on the most suitable products, please send an email to counselling2u.com Our therapists will sometimes recommend particular products from our shop if they consider these will be beneficial to you.
